A modern Asian restaurant featuring an exquisite menu that captures the essence of Asian cooking with a European twist on classic favourites. They offer carefully curated range of wines, award-winning Japanese craft beers and premium sakes which set them apart from other restaurants.

I was impressed with its interior design. I think we could all agree on how it fits with the description of being a modern restaurant and at the same time, providing diners with a cozy ambiance.

I had the opportunity to meet celebrity chef, Chef Benson Tong, and have him explain to me about the interesting dishes he had come up with for the new menu! I was definitely fascinated to hear about the ingredients he chose to use and also the steps taken to make the dishes. It was an eye-opener how well thought out the steps were.

Details: Wild Rocket, Compressed Rock Melon, Pickled Beetroot, Balsamic Gel

This appetizer has quite the good balance in taste with the rock melon being sweet and the ham being salty. Matching them both together is pleasure for your taste-buds.

I found myself entranced with how good the beetroot on this dish tasted! It tasted like carrot with a hint of sour to it. Addictive stuff.

Details: Forbidden Rice, Red Radish, Yellow Frisee, Salted Egg Cream

You must be wondering what is this forbidden rice. The most interesting part about this dish is how it incorporated black glutinous rice (which is used in the popular Asian dessert, black glutinous rice porridge). And yes, this black glutinous rice is what is referred to in this dish as forbidden rice.

I am a big fan of scallops. Like, who aren't?
I am glad to find that the texture of scallop was cooked perfectly. However, I do think that the salted egg part of the dish made the whole dish a little too salty. I still enjoy this dish though, because the fragrance of the scallop and salted egg is there.

Details: Confit Shimeji, Crispy Leek, Wilted Arugula, Lemon Dashi Broth

Hands down my favourite dish of the night! Huge huge fan of this particular seabass. Couldn't stop eating it. You should've seen me. This dish probably made me look like a glutton. Although the seabass can be a tad bit too salty because of how it is marinated in miso, I am still in love with it because it tasted SO good.

First impression of the seabass was that it tasted like COD FISH. OMG. -inserts heart eyes emoji-

Details: Arugula, Charred Corn Kennel, Braised Leek, Roasted Parsnip, Granny Smith Sauce

To be honest, I was skeptical about this dish when it made its way to the table. Will the pork be too tough?
My taste buds had an easy time proving to me that my skeptical thoughts couldn't be more wrong. The meat was so tender! It reminded me very much of the pork my Mum cooked. Haha

The meat itself and the sauce turned out to be quite salty.
However, it could be a perfect balance if I were to eat it with the potato. (:

Details: Passion Fruit Curd, Torched Meringue, Vanilla Ice Cream, Passion Fruit Coulis

If you are worried about the cake being too sweet, fret not. I think the torched meringue and cake are a suitable match.

Details: Charred Pineapple, Vanilla Ice Cream, Thyme, Paprika, Salted Caramel

Majority of you would enjoy this dessert because majority of us did! The vanilla ice cream is actually made from vanilla beans instead of vanilla essence.
I really enjoyed the dehydrated pineapples which had an interesting texture and flavour to them.

 FOODLINE

That's right, it's MAD FOR GARLIC! Brought 2 vouchers bought on Groupon to be shared among a group of friends quite a while ago. *I know, look at how overdue my posts are

One of my friends had been there before and she was really persistent in convincing us on how amazing their one pizza is. I must say, it was definitely more tasty than I expected. I rarely use the word best but I am just going to say that it is easily the best pizza I have ever had. You need to try it at least once in your life or you'd regret it. Guaranteed.

This pizza, my friends, is the godly pizza aka GARLIC SNOWING PIZZA. I'm not going to say look at all the prawns because I really think the main ingredient here is the garlic. It deserves the title foodporn. #justsaying

I've never received a product like this to review on ever, so i'm really excited in being creative with it.

I'm sure a majority number of you have been through that korean bbq craze happening before. Not sure if the craze is still on-going but I am pretty sure I can never get enough of it! I recall being obsessed with it when I was on my Korea trip.

Anyway, what do you say to whipping up some korean bbq food right at home?! *nobody would say no, obviously. Don't lie to yourself
You can do that easily with the help of these korean bbq sauces!

These sauces are made from carefully selected spices from Korea & China, mixed to create an irresistible flavour.
They are specially formulated to be a perfect fit for everything from your grilled fish to salad & hamburgers!
*can be used as a complimentary sauce for cooked dishes as well as marinating sauce for any type of cooking (BBQ, panfrying etc.)
SO MANY WAYS YOU CAN USE THEM.

These same carefully simmered sauces are used by most Korean restaurants in Singapore too!

1) SMOKY BBQ

Hey, I actually was hardworking and help assist my mom in cooking this! People who know me know I don't really cook. Haha. But if you count cooking instant noodles as cooking, then I guess I do. *shh, don't, just don't.

Marinated pork belly with the sauce and then stir-fried it! The smell was just drool-worthy. Ask my mom. She agreed. -smirks- Added some onions to the dish to make the taste even better.

The sauce turned out to be not too salty nor sweet, to my surprise. You would think it would be given its colour and how thick it looks. I feel that it is definitely suitable to eat with just the dish itself.
However, it could be a little better by adding soy sauce to make it a little saltier or onions to make it sweeter depending on your preference! *Just a little tip for you ;)

2) ORIGINAL

Decided to bend the rule a little by using this sauce with vegetables. After tasting the end product, I personally would not recommend it. *why did I bend the rule Haha
The sauce itself tasted pretty sweet and would probably be more suited for meat than vegetables. But of course, if you are like my sister who enjoyed the sweet taste with vegetables, then you may enjoy it.

3) SPICY

As you can probably tell, it would seem that we cooked it in a similar way as the first one. Except this time, we did not use the sauce to marinate it but poured it in in the midst of stir-frying it.

I have to point out that the smell of this sauce is quite empowering in a good way. It smelled like the sauce you get from the Korean spicy rice cake(Tteokbokki). I kid you not!
It's perfect for those who wanna try whipping up Korean spicy rice cake on their own.

However, I do think there is a need to add water to this sauce as it can taste a little too sweet on its own, in my opinion.
It also can be quite spicy for some of you!

4) BLACK PEPPER
Will you just look at how adorable Toffee is?!! Decided it would be a great idea to put the Korean costume to use. He is such a model.

Not going to lie but this sauce is too salty by itself so we had a little bit of help from water as well.
But together with wine and the sweetness of scallop, it was actually a perfect combination!
*tip: you can try adding sweet ingredients to neutralise the taste
Smell wise: I could smell quite a strong scent of herbs from the sauce itself.
